Fire:- Heart,Pericardium,Small Intestine.

The FIRE element is said to maintain the heart, pericardium and small intestine.

The heart and pericardiumhelp the smooth running of the bodily functions that concern circulation and emoitional balance. The small intestine uses food and sends waist to the large intestine. the trypal heater helps maintain body temperature and metabolism.

Organs affected by fire are affected teporarily stimulated by the bitter taste.

eg. coffee and tea speed the heart and kicks the digestive and nervouse system. Overuse of these bitter stimulants lead to a hard pulse, circulation is no longer smooth. Many bitter tastes are laxative affecting the small intestine.Too much bitter tastes are dehydrating to the skin.

Black tea, coffee and ciggarettes cause wrinkles.

To oppose the bitter taste's dehydrayting effects, add hot, sweet or salty.

eg. add cardomom (hot & sweet) to coffee and ginger (hot) to tea.

Bitter greens cooked with salt n pepper and fresh ginger.

The 5 types and associated organs

Fire:- Heart, Pericardium triple heater and small intestine.

Earth:- Stomach, Spleen, Pancreas.

Metal:- Lungs, Large Intestines, Skin.

Water:- Bladder, Kidney, Adrenal Gland and Hormonal Functions.

Wood:- Liver, Gallbladder(affecting, the muscles, tendons, joints and the soul and its outlet, eyes).

Asian medicine use constitutional types to indicate possible predispositions toward emotional and physical states.
-
The type are those as mentioned above.
-
Fire, Earth, Metal, Water and Wood.
For example a Fire type could find themselves with problems with the Fire element (Heart, Pericardium triple heater and small intestine).
Another way to look at physical Karma is the humors (wind, bile and phlegm types).
Body types and energetic tendencies are what Asian doctors use to describe our constitutional type.
-
One approach to diagnosing is observing the hands. The idea is the hands like the feet, tongue, ear and nose are a microcosm of the whole body. For instance a healthy pink colour under your fingernails indicates good/adequate blood production and circulation. Crosswise grooves can indicate weak nails from liver problems leading to poor absorption of calcium (wood type).
The most important feature of the hands for diagnosis has to be the shape as it determines its element.
-
Internal heat- makes the hand warm dry and red and scaly.
Internal Cold- makes the hand cold and pale.
Dampness- makes the hands feel clammy and
Stagnation- makes the hands look purplish.
-
keep in mind the fire hand type tends to have fire related problems and the water hand type would have water type problems (Bladder, Kidney, Adrenal Gland and Hormonal Functions).
This kind of diagnosis is difficult and should be combined with other methods before prescribing herbs. One person can show signs of two constitutional type in the one hand e.g. you may show signs of both wood and metal so diagnosing using the hand needs plenty of practice.
-
The fire Hand
The hand and fingers are long and flexible while the little finger is bent inward or hooked.
Nails- convex or oval shaped.
Excess yang is red and warm
Excess Yin is pale and pale.
passionate and sensitive a fire hand is often seen with red nails and gesticulating.
The Earth Hand
a short stocky hand with a square palm, flat triangular nails. Often seen nibbling on biscuits.
Earth types are in need of adequate chi in there digestive center. The stomach, Spleen and Pancreas as well as blood sugar balance can be an issue. This type may crave sweet food and may well eat it for energy or comfort. Prone to food addictions along with Metal types a bad diet and no exercise can lead to poor digestion, low energy, heart trouble, diabetes or hypoglycemia.
Blood sugar can be balanced by exercise and lift the spirit.
